Imagine my surprise when I learned General George Washington was at the Crypto Ball among the Inaugural Festivities this past weekend. Naturally, I had a few questions about his experience which he was kind enough to answer at the end of this article.
I didn’t know how long he’d be in this century so I secured an additional appointment. After I assured George that “a podcast” was not a pea-throwing contest on the green or a net casting activity for pods of dolphins, he looked at me strangely, but agreed to a quick sit-down over a glass of Madeira.
That full-length podcast episode with General George Washington which will air on February 17th, 2025!

The Interview
Q: I understand you came through a wormhole to witness the Inauguration of our 47th President. Exactly when did you get here and what city did you enter through?
A: Somehow I ended up arriving in this time at a location called Lancaster, Ohio on January on January 17, 2025…that’s a community just S/E of a large city known as Columbus. From there I made my way to the Capital City by making my way across the Ohio, Virginia, and Maryland lands.
Q: I hear you were at the Crypto Ball last weekend & were spitting Snoop Dogg rhymes. From Mozart to Snoop Dogg is an eclectic taste. Are you going to take Snoop back to Monticello with you?
A: Yes, I was made aware of the music of this Snoop Dogg fellow at the Crypto Ball and did find myself grooving with his rhymes; however I must say it’s a rhythmic beat I’m not accustomed to. I don’t think I’ll be taking the Snoop Dogg back to Mount Vernon, I believe he’d find it a little slow and plain.
Q: Be honest: why did you travel to the future and how long do you intend to stay?
I travelled to the future to see what had become of the Republic that the Founding Fathers and I had sacrificed everything for to bring about. To see if the dream and vision we had was able to withstand the ravages of time and space. I must say I was disheartened to learn of the Civil War but encouraged that a future President Lincoln was able to preserve the Union.
I will stay for a while, I want to look into all of the advancements we’ve made as a country…especially in agriculture and farming; it was my occupation you know when I wasn’t busy away with the Revolutionary War and being the Chief Magistrate (President).
Q: What would you advise the Americans of 2025 as a decorated General & our first administration?
A: My advice as a General and First President would be to take care of our country’s needs first and for our Congressmen try to get along with one another! I am disheartened to see how the two political parties now rarely get along, even though it would be best for our country to make compromises when necessary. As you recall, I warned against political parties when I published my Farewell Address in September 1796, before leaving office in March 1797.
Q: If you could do anything different about the Founding of America or any of your actions in the 1700s, what would they be?
A: If there’s anything I could go back and change, it would have been on the issue of slavery. When we delegates at the Constitutional Convention kicked that can down the road to 1808, many of us thought that slavery was waning. Reason we didn’t tackle it was we would never had a union, the southern states never would have agreed to anything at the time abolishing slavery. We needed a governing document to hold us together, so we did the best we thought at the time.
As for me personally, upon my death on December 14, 1799, I freed all of the slaves that I owned outright (upon my dear Martha’s death). I was the only one of the nine presidents that owned slaves to do so. Again, if we could have tackled slavery then, future generations of Americans possibly could have avoided that horrible Civil War. We were of different norms, culture, and traditions then, but I believe us Founders brought forward the greatest country on earth. Our representative Constitutional document is the longest surviving one on the planet.
